Welcome to Lemon zest!!
I am Akshata Jain (u can call me AJ!) cook, writer and photographer behind Indian Veg Food Blog. A Computer Engineer, passionate cook, raised in Bangalore, India, which is also called as foodies paradise because of availability in diversity of cuisines and foods and eatables with touch of its own tradition and uniqueness. Being a Bangalorean and a food freak, i keep trying different places including food streets to top class restaurants and try cooking those dishes at home.
I like interior designing, crafting, painting and many more but finally i discovered my ultimate passion - cooking and baking :)
My mom and dad are great cook, they have very good sense of taste. Interest in cooking and culinary skills in me are inherited by them. I used to note down the recipes of awesome food they cook in my Diary. I have good collection of recipes that are inspired by mom, dad, grandma, aunt, paternal aunt, friends, oh! not to forget my lil' bro who is a very good cook too and some are borrowed or adapted from another source (and i appreciate giving credits by giving link back to the original recipe) and some are my own varied versions.
And to talk about this blog and how it started, actually there is no story. One fine day i was checking my dairy and got a thought of sharing these great recipes. What could be better than to start my own food blog and a month or so later i had one.
This blog contains simple and easy Indian home food recipes that is cooked in every Indian kitchen and various traditional and authentic Indian vegetarian recipes inspired by great chefs of India and sometimes international recipes too. I am a Jain and strictly adhere to vegetarianism so the recipes in this blog are only veg foods and eggless baking.
All the recipes are tried and tested in my kitchen. I love to cook for the people and hear and see how they feel about my food. So you too give it a try and let me hear your words on it. Please use the comment box below for any kind of queries or feedback.
Thanks for dropping by!
Cheers,
AJ
