ALOO PALYA | POTATO DRY CURRY | PORIYAL RECIPE


This is an another simple veggie dry curry dish that can have as side dish for meals or for having along with chapati or Akki rotti.



Aloo dry curry is one food that i do everytime when i am in hurry! Because all it needed is tempering the veggie and pressure cook for one whistle. Isn't that a easy recipe!?!

Aloo dry curry recipe

Serves : 2-3

Ingredients

Aloo /potato - 3 large, chopped
Onion - 1 medium,finely chopped
Green chilli - 2, finely chopped
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Black seeds - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 1 strand
Grated coconut - 1 tbsp
Coriander - 1 tbsp
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste

Method 

  1. In a pressure cooker, bring 1 tbsp oil to heat, add mustard seeds, after it splutters, add black seeds, curry leaves, green chilli, chopped onion and fry until onion becomes translucent
  2. Then add chopped aloo/potato, salt along with 1 cup of water and pressure cook for 2 whistle
  3. after pressure settles down add grated coconut and chopped coriander leaves
