Learn how to make fresh mango jam at home with easy and simple steps. you cannot get home made mango jam this easy with just three ingredients and some time in hand.
Since mango mania is going on, it makes fair to make mango preserves like Mango jam, mango pickel, Raw mango panna, Mango morabb. Its always good to preserve the seasons best to relish it later.
Mango Jam recipe
Ingredients ( 1 cup-250 ml)
Ripe Mango - 2 large (makes one cup mango puree)
White sugar - half cup sugar (depends on the sweetness of mango)
Water - quarter cup
Safron threads - 2 (optional)
Method
- Boil the whole mangoes in a large bowl with enough water for about 10 mins or until soft
- After it cools down remove the mango pulp and place in a bowl and mash well using fork or masher
- In a large saucepan, add sugar, water and bring to boil on low heat.
- when the mixture begins to boil increase the heat to medium to high. Keep stirring.
- continue to boil until fine, soft two thread consistency (i.e when you drop on plate it should not easily flow)
- now stir in the mango pulp, add safron threads and boil until the mixture thickens. approximately it takes about 5 mins
- Bring down from flame, allow it to cool and pour in an sterilized jar and refrigerate.
Note : Shelf life - 3-4 months
