TOMATO RAITA | TOMATO CUCUMBER RAITA | RAITA RECIPE


Tomato raita is a no cook food. It is made with raw vegetables and fresh curd or yogurt.  This is simple quick food that can be made within ten minutes.

Raitas are one compulsory food that we make for breakfast in our family. It is always good to have some kind of fresh raw vegetables. We enjoy having it with chapati or parota.

You can also have raita along with Veg pulav, Veg Biryani, Bisibele Bhath.

Tomato Raita recipe

Serves : 2

Ingredients
Tomato - 2 medium, finely chopped
Cucumber - half, finely chopped (optional)
Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
Green Chilli - 1 medium sized, finely chopped
Curd - 1 cup ( 250 ml)
Milk - quarter cup
Salt to taste

Method
  1. In a mixing bowl, add chopped tomatoes, cucumber, onion, green chilli, milk, curd and mix well
  2. add salt to taste before serving ( if you add salt while mixing cucumber releases water making raita too watery)
You can also temper the with mustard seeds and curry leaves. I don't like to temper raitas, i like to have them fresh and raw.
