Capsicum fry is a quick, simple and easy dish that tastes yummy. Capsicum recipes are our family's all time favorite food. This is one of my mom's recipe. She loves to try out new quick recipes since she always will be in rush. but everything turns out delicious.
Capsicum fry along with Akki rotti is my favorite combo. This is often does for breakfast.
Try this capsicum fry with Akki rotti, chapati, poori, Pulkha.
Capsicum Fry recipe
Serves : 2Ingredients
Capsicum - 2 large sized, roughly chopped
Tomato - 1 medium sized, finely chopped
Split bengal gram - 1 tbsp
Jeera - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 1 strand
Sambar powder - 2 tsp
Grated coconut - 1 tbsp
Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp, finely chopped
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Method
- In a mixer, add Split bengal gram and jeera and grind it to fine dry powder
- place the grounded powder on a plate, add sambar powder, grated coconut and chopped coriander leaves and mix well. Keep aside
- In a frying pan, bring 1 tbsp oil to heat, toss in mustard seeds, after mustard seed splutters add curry leaves
- add capsicum and fry for 5 mins, then add tomato and salt and fry for another 2 mins
- now add half cup water and allow it to boil for 2-3 mins
- then add grounded mixture and mix well. close the lid and simmer it for 5 mins.
